INTELEC® The International Communications Energy Conference
INTELEC® is an international annual technical conference which, for the past thirty-nine years, has been the premier forum for the science and engineering of energy systems for Information and Communications Technologies (ICT). Research and technical papers explore the needs and trends in the subject areas of power conversion, energy storage, and high-reliability and mission-critical powering infrastructure. Topics include DC power plants, powering architectures, converters, inverters, batteries, fuel cells, grounding, physical and thermal designs, building and equipment cooling systems.
The 2018 conference will be held in Torino, Italy at the Lingotto Conference Centre.

A digest that accurately reflects the content of the proposed technical paper must be submitted no later than 2nd August 2018
The digest must include all the information considered necessary to evaluate the technical merit of the paper and should be a minimum of 500 words, not to exceeding 1500 words. Reference author contact information and the topic area of the paper should be included in the submission.
Acceptance letters will be emailed to authors by 30 May, 2018 and accepted manuscripts are due no later than 20 August, 2018.
The accepted manuscripts will be included in the conference proceedings that will be available at the conference. The conference proceedings will be submitted to the IEEE Xplore® digital library. The length of the final papers must not exceed eight single-spaced, double-column typewritten papers, tables and figures included. Specific instructions regarding manuscript formatting will be made available to those authors whose digests have been selected.
Papers will not be accepted if they include commercial advertising or product endorsements. Official language of the conference (digests, manuscripts, oral and poster presentations) will be English. All the accepted papers will be presented in oral or poster sessions. Authors are required to register for the conference and present their work in the assigned session. Special student sessions will be organized by the conference to encourage students to present their work.

INTELEC 2018 is also accepting proposals for workshop or special session on specific topics within the scope of the conference.
Special sessions are organized at the initiative of one or more individuals.
The proposal for a special session must include:

How to get to Torino
Torino lies in the centre of Europe and takes advantage of a well structured connection system by plane, train and car.
Caselle International Airport (www.aeroportoditorino.it), 20 minutes away from the city centre, allows daily connections with the main European cities.
Moreover Malpensa International Airport (www.milanomalpensa1.eu/en), one of the main European hubs connected to more than 120 cities all over the world, is located only 60 minutes' drive from Torino.
Torino has two main railway stations, Porta Nuova and Porta Susa, both in the city centre. They are connected, also with frequent high speed rail services, to the main destinations in Italy and France, and from there to the rest of Europe.
Lyon can be reached in 2.5 hours, Paris in about 5 hours and Milan in only 50 minutes.

Torino Metro line service usually runs from 5.30 until 00.30 except at weekends (until 01.00) and on Mondays (until 22.00).

The Lingotto Conference Centre can be reached from the city centre in a few minutes by subway (Lingotto metro station). Ticket cost: € 1,50.

Torino is one of the undisputed world capital of taste. It has always boasted a renowned food and wine tradition. The region’s extraordinary cuisine can be enjoyed in over 600 city restaurants. Restaurants are usually open from 12.00 to 14.30 and from 19.30 to 22.30. For those who prefer something different to the classic menus, Torino proposes a most pleasant alternative: wine bars. Torino is also renowned for the ability of its pastrycooks.
Located in the north-west of Italy Torino has a continental weather, which is usually mild in late summer and beginning of autumn. Average temperatures range from 14°C to 23°C in October.

We have an exciting social program planned for INTELEC 2018. You will discover stunnig venues, taste the famous food and wines of Piedmont and meet old and new colleagues in a nice, relaxing atmosphere.
The social program will include a welcome cocktail reception to be held on Sunday October 7 (venue to be communicated) and the exhibition welcome reception on Monday October 8 at the conference venue.
The social dinner will be held on Wednesday October 10 at the Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile (National Car Museum), a fascinating, interactive museum which was recently renovated with a modern, innovative design. The Lingotto Conference Centre
The Lingotto Complex, located at only 3 km from the city centre, is a prestigious international centre for exhibitions and conference business. Renzo Piano’s design has made a modern centre of the building that once was Fiat’s first major car factory.
